* Friday Fix: Pixlr Image Tool
Posted on February 20th, 2009 by Jerry. Filed under Interactives.

Here’s a free web tool for bloggers and webmasters who do not wish to spend hundreds in image editing software: Pixlr.
Pixlr is a free online image editor where you can work on images in your browser. The web tool is built in Flash and you need to have a Flash plug in to get it to work. Basically, the web tool is built for non-professionals who need basic image editing functions. The system, from what I see, is merely a tool for editing web images to be posted on blogs, news-sites, as well as image sites like Flikr, Photobucket etc.
Visit Pixlr online, or start editing images here.
* Logo Faves
Posted on January 31st, 2009 by Jerry. Filed under CSS.

Logo Faves works pretty much the same with other logo gallery websites like Logo Of The Day and Logo Pond. What makes them different from the rest is the “Designer Cloud” which lists the names of all the designers that have submitted and links to a gallery of their work. Personally I think that’s a good way to credit the designers and are more user friendly in term of site navigation.
Visit Logo Faves.
* Woork has a new design!

Fellow web developers, I don’t think the blog “Woork” need further introduction. Number of eyeballs focus on this blog is growing exponentially (over 10,000 subscribers now!) and you should really have a look on Antonio’s great work!
Although the design is new, Woork’s quality content has never changed. Get inspired, visit Woork.

Tired of using the same old graphics? While here’s a way to create something fresh with the same photo: Textorizer.
Textorizer is a nice piece of web application that allows you to create cool graphics using text of your choice. The tool takes jpeg, png, gif, or xpm file less than 128K in length and produces an SVG file which reconstructs the original image using parts of the text scattered around.
Here’s my creation out for the three web giant’s logo.

You too can have some fun! Visit Textorizer.
* Flickr search by colours

How often can you search images online based on the image colour? I believe ‘never’ is the answer that most will reply.
Don’t you wish you can categorize images based on its colours? You bet.
With Idee’s Multicolr Search Lab, you don’t have to skim thru another 3,581 images before reaching to your ideal choice. Multicolr Search Lab extracted the colours from 10 million of the most “interesting” Creative Commons images on Flickr and allow its users to navigate the collection by colour.
Here’s the Multicolr Search Lab in action – definitely a heavenly tool for lazy web designer like me.

Start searching with colours at Idee’s Multicolr Search Lab.
